Loveland, Colorado Man Sets Record for Longest Cornhole Shot

A Loveland man who has become a noted Colorado celebrity for his enjoyment of fun, set another record for cornhole in July of 2025.

What is the Longest Cornhole Shot Not Using a Slingshot?

Loveland's Luke Lorick (and his two teammates) made their shot (which will hopefully begin a new category for Guinness) on the heels of a record being set in May of 2025, when, according to Guinness, a man in Turkey propelled a cornhole bag 91 feet.

Loveland Man Previously Shot Record-Setting 'Backwards' Cornhole Shot

It was in September of 2023, that the founder of National Tailgating Day, Luke Lorick, set the world record for the longest "backwards" cornhole shot at, 46 feet, 3 inches. I was there that day; the shot only took about 15 minutes. The longest overall shot, took much longer for him to sink.

On July 20, 2025, at Meridian High School in Meridian, Idaho, Lorick along with Joel Strasser and Garret Smith (Amazing Race competitors and Guinness record-holders) came together on the football field.

How Long Did it Take to Shoot the 'Longest Cornhole Shot of All Time?'

The men began with high hopes of slingshotting/catapulting a cornhole bag from the goal line of the field to midfield; suggesting "100 or so" attempts would get it done. 12 hours later, they had gone well passed 100 attempts.

What Was the Distance of the 'Longest Cornhole Shot of All Time?'

As the sun was setting on the day of the their attempt, Lorick and his team were thinking that they'd have to come back the next day. But then, after 12 hours, one shot finally made it into the hole - which as 50 yards, or 151 feet away.
