‘Frederick In Flight’ Hot Air Balloon Festival, June 25 & 26, 2022

The first weekend of summer for 2022 will bring one of Colorado's best hot air balloon festivals, right in the Fort Collins area's own backyard.

What's better than seeing beautiful hot air balloons take to the Northern Colorado skies, than holding a "Balloon Bash" on a Saturday night, to go with it. Frederick is less than an hour from Fort Collins, well worth the short drive to check out the event.

"Frederick in Flight" will be celebrating 11 years when things begin that late Friday afternoon. Though a small town, Frederick is part of the set of towns that make up the Carbon Valley: Frederick, Erie, Firestone, Dacono, and Mead. Three sisters named the town after their father Frederick Clark, back when the town was incorporated in 1907.

Frederick holds lots of fun events like the the chainsaw art competition that I enjoy so much, and is home to the first location of Mountain Cowboy Brewing. I think it would be a great place to live; 14,000 others would tend to agree.

• 6 a.m. balloon lifts both Saturday and Sunday.
• Breakfast vendors both mornings.

• 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.
• Centennial Park.
• Food Trucks.
• Live Music.
• Beer Garden.
• Kids Activities.
• Balloon Glow (weather permitting.)
