Greeley Could Be Getting a New Indoor Tennis Center

While Colorado has many days of sunshine, not all of them are fit for playing tennis outside. Greeley looks to be getting a new place to play/compete while being protected from the elements.

There's something very invigorating about a great game of tennis: the exercise, the competition, the "rallys."  I used to play a lot of racquetball, but never really took up tennis; I still have time, though. Tennis is a sport/activity that can be enjoyed well into your 70s.

Who's Bringing an Indoor Tennis Center to Greeley, Colorado?

A member of the Facebook group "Greeley! Anything Still Goes" posted in September of 2026 that an indoor tennis center was in the works for Greeley. Though they couldn't say where it would be or when, exactly, it would be operational, they seemed very confident about the project.

We've been working on it for about a year. Engineering proposal goes to the City today. I'll post updates as they come!

Someone asked, "Is tennis really that big in Greeley?" The poster commented that "Yes! The youth programs are busy, and there hasn’t been any local indoor tennis here for over seven years!" It was in 2019 that Work Out West in Greeley shut down its tennis facility, as it just wasn't sustainable, profit-wise.

The renderings that they put together for the civil engineers present the center as the "Racquet Center/Greeley", with courts (of course), 30-foot ceilings, a pro shop, and more. I would expect to find a small cafe/bar on site as well.

It's hard to say, early out, if the center will include pickleball. There are a lot of folks who are "over" the indoor pickleball craze, but many do love it. Someone suggested getting padel courts; padel is a combination of tennis and squash. We'll see.
