Unique Denver Steakhouse Burglarized of Only Steaks For 3rd Time
You may never have heard of this particular Colorado steakhouse, but someone definitely seems to have a grudge. Sure, steaks can be expensive, but why steal only the steaks?
Someone breaks in once and steals only steaks is one thing; a second time, that's frustrating. For it to happen a third time? Something is definitely up. Everybody loves a good mystery; this one really has some "meat" to it.
It's not like the restaurant hasn't been taking the initiative to prevent the burlaries, either.
Some call the Columbine Steak House & Lounge in Denver a landmark; the small restaurant, at 3rd and Federal, has definitely been a "mark" for interesting thefts.
I'm the kind of person that enjoys a good "heist" story, and this story about how Columbine Steak House has been robbed of only their steaks, three times, falls right into that category.
According to The Denver Post, Columbine, which has been in operation since 1961, had to close completely for a short time after someone broke in a stole their supply of steaks, for a third time within two years.
Columbine is a no-frills, cash-only, somewhat "divey" steakhouse; who has it out for them so much?

The first burglary, according to the Denver Post, happened in late 2022, where thieves broke in and only stole the steaks. After a second occurrence, the restaurant's owner made it more difficult to break in.
In July of 2024, the thieves used a truck and a winch to pull the back wall away to get to those steaks. When you consider that the restaurant operates by "cash-only," you would think that the crooks would be finding and taking some of that cash. But, no.

According to the Denver Post, if the thieves come back for a fourth time, they'll find cement posts protecting that back wall. Maybe that will deter them, and they'll walk away with only three burglaries under their belt, or will that only escalate things even further?
