In late September of 2026, I was given a tip that the Thompson Valley Towne Center, off of Taft Avenue and 14th Street SW, looked to be getting a Jersey Mike's, according to their site map. The location seems to be the spot where Subway was until early September of 2026.

Jersey Mike's started in 1956 in Pleasant Point, New Jersey, as "Mike's Giant Size Submarine Shop". Mike sold the business in 1971 to a couple of brothers; then the brothers sold the business to a 17-year-old who worked at the shop and loved it and obtained a $125,000 loan.

Today, that kid, Peter Cancro, is worth over $6 billion. Amazing.
