How Much are Tickets for Zoo TV Cinema?
When you consider how exorbitant tickets are to see them inside The Sphere, you'd be amazed to pay only $15.
Why is 'U2: Live at Red Rocks' So Special?
The concert, June 5 1983, put U2 on the map. The band coughed up just about all the money that they had ($30,000) to get the film made. Legendary Colorado music promoter Barry Fey and Island Records helped to get the $250,000 that was needed.
The Colorado Weather Became Part of the Concert Film
Having invested so much into filming the Red Rocks concert, the band and promoters just couldn't shut the show down when torrential rain started at the outdoor amphitheater. The two opening bands canceled, it was that bad.
Crew members used squeegees to keep rain away from the wires. The assistant of recording engineer Randy Ezratty received an electrical shock while setting up a lighting truss.
Only about half of the people who had tickets actually went, and Bono had them all come as close to the stage as they could, regardless of what their tickets said.
It was a crazy, dangerous, fun night. A Coloradan seeing it on the big hi-tech screen in Las Vegas would be very satisfying.
