A Home-Goods Retailer Closing All But One Colorado Location
Another business (with seven Colorado stores) that has been around "forever," is now in a situation where they need to close a lot of stores if they want to stay afloat.
Having been founded in 1889, it's hard to imagine what items they were selling when they first opened; today you find appliances, mattresses, TVs, gaming consoles, furniture and more.
Coloradans who have been fans of the store will have only one location left.
By the time that 2024 comes to an end who's to say how many businesses in total will have announced closures of many of their locations; Red Lobster, Macy's, Foot Locker, Big Lots!, Bed Bath & Beyond, to name a few, have made the news this year.
Joining that ever-growing list is Conn's HomePlus.
CNN reports that the company, which began in Texas in 1889, will be closing nearly half of their 170 locations across the 15 states that they reside in; Colorado will see 90% of its stores shutter.
Conn's HomePlus Closing Stores Across Colorado
Not to be confused with Home Goods, Conn's HomePlus, also a home-goods retailer, came to Fort Collins in 2014, when the company opened its first location outside of the Denver-Metro in Fort Collins. Fort Collins will be one of the seven stores not being spared by the announced 73 closures.
Six states will see the closing of Conn's stores, which have boasted themselves as being for hardworking Americans, helping them finance their purchases, where other retailers could not help.

Now it's Conn's that needs the help, as according to CNN, their stock has plummeted 80% over the last year and they've filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. With that, comes the closing of 73 stores.
