The hits, as they say, just keep coming when it comes to businesses that are closing their Colorado locations. Big Lots! has announced, after speculation, which of their 14 locations in Colorado are closing.

Big Lots! has been struggling for a while; it was in early 2023 that they closed four locations Colorado, including in Fort Collins. In July of 2024, came word that four more locations in the Centennial State would be shutting down.

What have been the kind of items that you've gone into Big Lots! to find?

It's been a while since I, myself, was in a Big Lots! I do recall, about 10 years ago, I was at the one in Brighton and picked up a Bruce Springsteen poster, but I don't recall what I went there to actually purchase.

Big Lots! Shutting Down Four Colorado Locations

According to FOX31 Denver, the four locations that are closing are spread across the state fairly equally, from north to south, from east to west. I'm sure that employees of these stores would disagree that there's anything "fair" or "equal" about the closures.

FOX31 took the initiative to call all 14 Colorado locations to find out which of them were given the notice of closing. Those had to be hard calls to make:

Hello, I'm calling to see if you're closing?"

That's never fun.

Also not fun, looking for another job around the four cities that are losing their Big Lots!, especially when retailers left and right are making the same hard decision to close stores. With luck, the employees will be given some sort of severance upon closing.
