Colorado Pasta Restaurant Chain Closing More Locations
Don't tell my youngest daughter, because she's obsessed with pasta, but we may be losing her favorite restaurant sometime in the near future.
If you're a fan of noodles in many different forms and flavors, this may not be good news for you either as Colorado-based Noodles and Company announced their second quarter results the other day and with it, the unfortunate news that they will likely be closing 28 to 32 of their corporate owned stores across the U.S.
As of July 1, they currently operate 364 corporate-owned restaurants and 89 franchised stores. That's about 20 less than a year ago.
Noodles and Company was launched in Cherry Creek 30-years ago, back in 1995. Its founder, Aaron Kennedy, was inspired by eating at Mamie's Asian Noodles shop in New York and started "noodling" out the idea in his mother-in-law's kitchen with his eventual business partner and head chef.

Through the late 90s and early 00s, the business rapidly expanded, from 37 locations in 2002 to over 140 by 2007, with many food critics in the markets they operated naming them as the best fast-food restaurant in their respective cities.
Their total revenue in Q2 2025 dropped slightly year over year, from $127m to $126m, of which maybe ten to twenty of those millions were eaten by my youngest daughter. I did mention she was pasta-obsessed.
Which restaurants will eventually be closed has yet to be announced but one can only hope that not many of them will actually be in the State of Colorado. While they anticipate closing roughly 30 stores, they also plan on opening two new locations.
