How Different Will Windsor Middle School Be When the New School Year Begins?

There are hundreds and hundreds of schools in Colorado; at some point those schools need to be upgraded, time and time again. Windsor Middle School's most current "modernization" project started in 2024, and ramped up construction after the 2025,-2026 school year.

What's Going on With Windsor Middle School on Main in Windsor, Colorado?

While the Windsor Middle School Modernization project did begin in 2024, much of that work was done on the north side of the building, out of sight from the thousands of cars that pass by the school every day.

How Old is Windsor Middle School?

By the time the project is complete, it will probably seem like a brand-new school, considering it dates back to 1918 when it as the High School for the town.

Items Being Worked on in the Project Include:

• New Front Entrance/Drive Extension.
• New Cafeteria/Platform and Outdoor Learning Addition.
• Collaboration spaces.
• Library Modernization.
• Library Entrance Renovation.
• New Floor Finishes and Paint (Gym Excluded.)
• Band Modernization.
• Replace Portions of Ceilings and Lighting.
• Add Fire Sprinkler System.
• Relocate Existing Modular Buildings.

The near $20 million project, which will bring Windsor Middle School up to the standards of Ridgeline Middle School and Severance Middle School, does seem long overdue; but once finished, it'll be great for the students and staff, alike.

It's really going to be weird to not see those four modular buildings that the school has had to the east for over 20 years. Not to say that the school won't still need them, but not seeing them, as I pass by on my way to work at the radio station a block away, will be interesting.
