It is normal for all of us to reflect this time of year. It's the Christmas spirit, family, the end of another year and a time we look back on events that shaped our lives in 2011.

I have so much to be thankful for and wanted to express my gratitude for those who have been in my life and offered me so much support.

My Mom, Dad and my daughter, Tasha, her husband, Victor and grandson, Lil Victor are really the only family I have beyond my radio family. Because of the constant moving of an Army and radio life, I was never able to connect with cousins or aunts and uncles over the years.

This next week I will be able to connect with my parents with a trip to Florida for the first time over the holiday period for longer than I care to admit. They have had their share of health issues as of late, as did I this year, and that makes this visit even more precious to me.

I also need to express my appreciation of all the people I work with everyday. I have been fortunate to have had a very successful career, having started radio in my teens. But, there is no doubt that the team I work with here is by far the most talented and caring group of broadcast professionals I've had the pleasure of being associated with.

I have had the joy of spending the better part of the past two decades with a wonderful morning partner. Susan Moore has put up with my quirks and faults for longer than anyone else I know, and 'usually' does it with a smile. :) Our daily banter comes so effortlessly, that perhaps I seem to take it for granted. Nothing could be further from the truth. I feel I have been truly blessed to be able to pursue this life path with such an empathetic partner for the journey.

Then there's you, our listeners. So many of you have also spent the past 20 years being there each day. It's difficult to express my thanks for that, other than to say how indebted I feel for your loyalty and support for this career path, I've chosen.

It helps pay the rent, and keeps me fed. (sic)

In closing, as I'm boarding my plane for the Sunshine State, I will be thinking of you and your families. I wish you health, happiness and love during this holiday season and I'll catch you on the other side, returning to the air, December 27th.

Merry Christmas,

Michael
