If You Love Christmas, You’ll Really Love This Christmas Village Collection in Loveland
Many folks in Colorado and across the nation like to collect things: vinyl records, stamps, toy trains, spoons, classic cars, etc. A woman in Loveland has spent years putting together a collection of Christmas villages to create one massive town, named "Winterville."
I think a lot of people have at least one Christmas village item that they break out every year. I, for example, do have a few items, but I just don't have the space for putting a whole village together, so I just bring out my Christmas village radio station. It's a "less is more" display, for sure. A woman in Loveland takes her collection much, much more seriously, but it's about fun.
Large Christmas Village Collection in Loveland is Tough to Get a Look At
I had only heard about Barb's collection in December of 2025, from a friend of a friend. That's basically how people in the area do hear about it. Barb enjoys her privacy, but does also enjoy giving people the opportunity to see the collection; so every year she holds an open house, inviting people she's invited and friends of those people downstairs to see it all. After the open house, the display is available to see by appointment only for a little while, which is how I got a look.
Loveland Christmas Village Collection is Very Large
Barb's collection, which she began in 1999, consists of over 190 structures, over 1,000 figurines and other accoutrements, such as trees, train tracks, and hand-made hills/mountains. It takes about 75 hours to pull it all out of 30 storage tubs and put it all together; she gets help from her granddaughter, who'll be getting the collection at some point.

There's a very wide variety of buildings, some named after Barb's family members, such as Ray's Record Shop, Phil's Diner, and Pat's Pub. You'll find several churches, there are lighthouses, carousels, a clock towner (that works,) you'll find a "kids area," a "rural area," and a lake, just to name a fraction of the collection.
