As the outlook has turned a bit rosier in the Mile High City when it comes to the competitive status of our football team, this season the Denver Broncos will be looking back to a time when we were having a lot of fun as Bronco fans.

Before the last decade of darkness, Peyton Manning was slinging it around. The No Fly Zone was picking balls off and taking them to the house. Von Miller was flying around the end and taking down quarterbacks. And Demaryius Thomas was always smiling.

The former Broncos receiver - one of the most popular Broncos ever, who ranks second on the team's all-time list for receiving yards behind only Rod Smith - passed away at the end of 2021. He suffered from a few seizure related medical issues and sadly died of natural causes at age 33.

Now during alumni weekend of the 2025 season, he will be officially immortalized as the 38th member of the Denver Broncos Ring of Fame, joining other legends like John Elway, Terrell Davis, Rod Smith, Champ Bailey, Mike Shanahan, Pat Bowlen and many more.

He was certainly one of the best to ever wear the orange and blue. From that catch from Tim Tebow and sprint downfield to beat the Steelers on the first play in overtime 13 years ago to Super Bowl 50, Thomas was one of those likable, electric personalities in Denver that you just always saw smiling.

Greg Penner and Carrie Walton-Pennder, the top of the Broncos' ownership group, lead the committee that elects former Broncos to the Ring of Fame.

His induction ceremony will be held at halftime during the game at Mile High on October 19 - alumni weekend - against the visiting New York Giants.
