Join me as I travel around Northern Colorado in search of NoCo's Greatest Pie.  This week, a stop in east Fort Collins at Cozzzola's

In pursuit of Northern Colorado's Greatest Pie, my 'Pizza My Heart' series took me into the Choice City to check out the now, ONLY Cozzola's. There used to be one in Old Town Fort Collins, but Dave Cozzola sold that location in 2018 after 30 years.

The remaining location is off of Harmony and Oakridge in that little strip mall between a chiropractor and Burke Cleaners. It's just a stone's throw from Otto Pint.

My cohort Jake and I arrived a little after noon on September 18, 2019. This Cozolla's is a take-out/delivery only. They do offer slices as well as the full menu during lunch. We opted for the 14" Montgomery Pass pie: Lots of garlic, feta cheese, sundried tomatoes, and red onions. I'm a sucker for a veggie pie.

While we waited, they had a little rush, including several ladies came in from the nail salon nearby. It was such a rush, that they ran out of available slices while we were there.

The small storefront has a lot of framed patriotic pictures, as if they are for sale. I forgot to ask how much they are.

We got our pie and decided to go eat at Zwei Brewing off Harmony and College. it was my first trip to either place. Jake had not been to this Cozzola's, but he was familiar with Zwei.  We got a couple of pints then went outside to try the pie.

First off, you don't see braided crusts that often, so that was cool. Plus, the crust was stuffed with cheese. Bonus. There was a lot of cheese on top of the pie. I liked that. The Montgomery Pass was delicious. A very good pie.

The cost of the pie was a little high ($19.80), but they did take of almost $2 since we picked it up.

If you are looking for a great pie to pick up or get delivered, this would be a smart choice.
