You work hard for your money, a lot of that money gets taxed and goes to the State of Colorado to use. If they tax more than they need, we get it back; it's the law.

For 2024, there was a lot left over and they've announced how much we'll all see (depending upon our gross income) when we file our 2024 taxes.

It starts at $177; it beats a stick in the eye, right?

Colorado TABOR Law Means Tax Refunds For Coloradans

Passed by voters in 1992, the Taxpayers Bill of Rights law (TABOR) law added an amendment to the state constitution that generally limits the amount of revenue governments in the state can retain and spend.

Without voter approval, TABOR requires excess revenue to be refunded to taxpayers, that's us (pointing thumbs at myself.)

Maybe you'll need to have a family "vote" on what you'll be doing with your share of the excess taxes taken in, which came to $1.7 billion. If anything, you can take the family out for a nice, big dinner.
