New Hot Pot Restaurant Opens in Downtown Loveland
Colorado has a new hot pot restaurant, this one in Downtown Loveland where once there was a popular wine bar/pizza joint. Origins was great, but this place will be bringing in many for its "all you can eat" experience.
Urban Hot Pot Opens in Downtown Loveland
In 2023, Origins Wine Bar & Wood-Fired Pizza closed its doors; they had a great run for a while, but the pandemic began its downfall. For three years, that great location at the northeast corner of Lincoln Avenue at 5th Street sat empty. Then, in the spring of 2025 we brought you the news that Urban Hot Pot was coming to town. In the summer of 2026, they did indeed arrive.
On n a day off I had in July of 2026, I stopped in for lunch there in Downtown to have my very first "hot pot" experience. I had very little idea on what "hot pot" was, so I had some trepidations; I didn't want to look stupid. I decided on a late lunch, where there would probably be lesser of a crowd.
From Pizza and Wine to Hot Pots in Downtown Loveland
Urban Hot Pot is completely different from when it was Origins; it's more bright and more wide open. There are plenty of tables (mostly four-tops) and the staff is very helpful. I asked more than a few questions, and they were more than willing to answer them.
I was surprised by the "other items," aside from the endless meat portions they'd bring out. There was so much, a lot that I didn't know what the particular items were, even with their names provided. Then there's the seafood section, including muscles, which are a favorite of mine.

I ended up getting at least three servings of meat, and taking several trips back to the "other items" to get more muscles, and gnocchi; it was all very good. I didn't use all of my 90-minutes of allotted time for my "all you can eat" meal, but I was definitely full.
