Downtown Denver has many interesting and old buildings; one is set to become a new restaurant and club after being bought from a church.

Blighted Building in Downtown Denver Dates Back to 1930s

The building at 2019 Stout Street features classic architecture from the 1930s; according to the Denver Post, In it recent history it was home to Caron Press which made books and guides about Denver.

After Caron Press closed, 2019 Stout Street has been sold over five times, with no business/organization actually doing anything with the building.

At one point, the pastor/church that owned the property had envisioned his church being there, being close to help the homeless and drug addicts. The costs of renovating the building (over $4.5 million) however were to expensive, and he put the building up for sale.

What's Next for 2019 Stout in Denver?

According to the Denver Post, the new owners of the building, after paying $975,000 for it, are planning on calling the new place "Chapter," with a restaurant on the main level, a club in the basement level, and having a rooftop patio as well. It sounds expensive, when you consider the building didn't have electrical or plumbing upon purchase.

When the old building begins its next 'chapter' as Chapter, it'll be very interesting to see what the owners have done to the place. With luck and hard work, Chapter may be the final chapter for 2019 Stout Street.
