The Johnstown, Colorado Woods Market is Amazing
Colorado grocery stores have a new player in town, Woods Market. Right across I-25 from Buc-ee's, this grocery store is much more than a supermarket.
Woods Market Comes to Johnstown, Colorado
I think you need to put aside what your common thoughts about what a grocery store "should be" are when it comes to Woods Market.
I've not been to any other Woods, but I have been to many grocery stores, and this store puts them all to shame.
Woods Market in Johnstown is located in Ledge Rock Center, a 200-acre development that will feature 1,200 new apartments, 160 new residences, and over one million square feet of retail space.
It was in March of 2024, that we let you know that a grocery store that would have a bar and a sushi bar inside was headed to Johnstown. Just about a year later, Woods Market opened; and yes, there is a bar inside.

The bar is not at all what I thought it would be. I thought it be very small, with just a few seats and a small selection. Quite to the contrary, this bar is like one you'd find at your favorite restaurant: a big "horseshoe" bar for many to sit around, have a drink and watch TV.
The bar at Woods Market is a far cry from a little "cocktail stand," with plenty of seating where you can bring the food you picked up at their cafe that's behind you or the sushi bar across the way.
Basically, you have to think of Woods as a grocery store along with a community gathering space. Not only is there the bar, above, there is a cafe where you can sit and and enjoy menu offerings like burgers, pizza, subs, salad bar, etc.
There are even games you can grab off the shelf and play like a craft brewery. Speaking of craft breweries, Frederick's Mirror Image Brewing operates the bar at Woods.
Woods is not just a place to get your weekly groceries, that's for sure, take a look.
