1995 was a very big year for Colorado: DIA began operating, Coors Field began hosting Rockies games and the Quebec Nordiques became the Colorado Avalanche. A Netflix documentary will look at the team, from then to now.
Netflix to Premiere 'AVS' Documentary in Summer of 2025
The three-time Stanley Cup champions, the Colorado Avalanche, have hundreds of thousands of fans. Those fans are going to want to catch this documentary about the team on Netflix.
The Avalanche's uniform included the Yeti foot patch for their first 11 seasons.
It was definitely amazing for Coloradans, when in 1996 the Colorado Avalanche won their first Stanley Cup, in their first year in Denver. Sure, they were experienced hockey players (formerly the Nordiques) but that didn't matter to us. The state went berserk.

Those early days, 30 years ago, when the Avalanche first started out in Denver were a lot fun. Sakic, Roy, Forsberg, Lacroix, Coach Crawford; great players, a great coach.
Those first four seasons all took place at the now defunct McNichols Arena- It's hard to believe.

Thirty years later, the team is made up of new names, but still great players: Landeskog, Makar, MacKinnon, Coash Bednar. While Landeskog has been out, injured for three years, he's still a big part of the team and will be featured in the Netflix documentary.
