The former C.B. & Potts at 1831 E. Mulberry St. in Fort Collins won't be vacant for long.

According to the Coloradoan, local brewery Peculier Ales plans to take over the building's taproom and brewing facility this summer — a move that will give the business around 3,000 square feet of extra brewing space.

However, the takeover is an expansion, not a transfer. Peculier Ales will continue to run its location in Windsor, which opened last year.

While this evolution may seem like a surprising decision for such a young business, owner and head brewer Nick Armitage told the publication that the expansion is necessary to keep up with demand. In fact, the facility is set to produce 1,200 barrels of beer by the end of its first year.

The former C.B. & Potts closed its Mulberry taproom last summer, and thankfully, the building is almost ready for a new arrival. After some minor renovations, Armitage is hoping to open the new location by July or August.

Peculier Ales first opened to the public on Aug. 29, 2020, making it the fourth brewery in Windsor. The brewery is open everyday in the historic Windsor Mill, next to Windsor Mill Tavern and Cacciatore at Heller's Kitchen.
