Weld County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Suspicious Activity on Highway 392
The Weld County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating suspicious activity that occurred on Highway 392 earlier this week. According to the press release, just after 10 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, deputies responded to reports of two different vehicles being damaged by a suspected projectile in the area of Highway 392 and Weld County Road 45.
When deputies arrived on scene for the first call, they learned that the vehicle had been driving westbound on Highway 392 near the area of Weld County Road 45 around 10:02 p.m., when they heard an impact to the car. At first, the driver thought it was just road debris, but once they arrived home and inspected the vehicle, they noticed damage to the rear passenger door.
The second call came in at approximately 10:14 p.m., involving a citizen who also reported to be driving in the same area of Highway 392 in the area of Weld County Road 45, and heard something hit their vehicle as well. The damage to the vehicle did penetrate the passenger window.
Neither of the drivers were injured and although deputies searched through the fields on the east and west sides of Weld County Road 45 to the north of Highway 392, they were not able to locate anyone in the area.
