You Can Ride in 2 Poker Runs in May to Benefit the Great High Plains Honor Flight
Motorcyclists, in Colorado and all around, are a great group of people; always helping out their local communities in one way or another. One way, is by holding "poker runs;" getting out on the road with a group of like-minded souls helping out and hopefully getting the "best hand." The Fort Collins area will see two of them in May of 2026.
How Long Has High Plains Honor Flight Been Operating?
High Plains Honor Flight began as Northern Colorado Honor Flight in 2008; since then, according to the Reporter-Herald, over 3,000 veterans have received free trips to Washington D.C. to visit the memorials built in their honor. It's a wonderful organization that's not only emotional for the Veterans but for the "guardians" that accompany the veterans.

The overall cost for each High Plains Honor Flight trip is about $250,000; raising funds for the organization is an ongoing endeavor. Poker runs are just one of the ways people can donate, but a ride is two-fold: Getting out for some fun and seeing friends, along with helping Veterans.
