Permit Battle Closes Down Portion Of Windsor’s Sports Park
What once was a dream scenario for the Town of Windsor seems to keep hitting snag after snag as Future Legends Sports Complex continues their struggle to operate.
They opened the park back in 2023 and have faced a handful of challenges in getting things up to speed, the most recent of which back in August of last year when it was made public they were struggling to pay their bills.

By the end of that month, the complex was put into receivership, with an article from KUNC and BizWest reporting that the owner of the venue was unable to pay back debts totaling roughly $45 million.

Now comes the news from the Town of Windsor itself that a portion of the complex will not be allowed to operate, as its temporary permit of occupancy expired back in October and has not been extended, as it had been before.
The dome, pickleball court and collegiate stadium must be closed down until Future Legends can obtain a permanent certificate of occupancy. The town put out a press release regarding the matter on April 28.
“The Town of Windsor is committed to helping businesses thrive while also ensuring the safety of our community. We’ve worked closely with Future Legends over the past several years, and it’s our sincere hope they will take the necessary steps toward full compliance so they can return to serving the Windsor community as soon as possible.” Town Manager Shane Hale
Future Legends has appealed the decision but according to 9News, the Town of Windsor has said they will not consider the appeal.
