Coloradoans can Ring In Summer at a Christmas-Themed Amusement Park
Before I moved back to Northern Colorado, and was doing radio in Colorado Springs, I lived on the west side of Pike's Peak in the tiny mountain town of Cascade. Just to the east of that is a place called North Pole, Colorado, and that is where, since 1956, you can find Santa's Workshop. You see it when you're driving west from Colorado Springs on Highway 24, because there's a ferris wheel sticking high above the trees on the mountain side. I can tell you it's pretty fun to be high atop that.
There are more than 20 rides that will keep everyone happy, and sometimes other shows and attractions.
This is a terrific place to take kids, or just get away with anyone for a day. It's historical, inexpensive, very clearly unique, and it's hard not to feel a lot of love when you're inside the place. I'll never forget how fascinated my girls (whom were at the time 5, 5, and 3 years old,) were by Santa's village. You walk up to this gorgeous, little cabin, and you go inside and Santa is sitting there, waiting to let you see what his life is like during his "off season."
There are more "adulty" rides too, like the scramber, zipline, and a small roller coaster. There's also a one-of-a-kind carousel.
Santa's Workshop is open until Christmas Eve.
Your ticket pays for anything the place offers for the day. More, here!
