Colorado State University First School To Get Futuristic Upgrade
Students at Colorado State University can be proud of the fact that they're going to be the first university in the state of Colorado to get a cool, new upgraded food delivery service - beating the University of Colorado at Boulder, the University of Northern Colorado and all other campuses across the state.
In partnership with Grubhub and Starship Technologies, CSU has announced that beginning Monday, January 27, your food order might be delivered by a robot rolling its way across the school's main campus.
Starship is the company that makes the customized little robots specifically for food delivery, and Colorado State will be the 55th campus nationally they've rolled out service. The robots are capable of navigating safely around pedestrians, bicycles and more in just about any weather condition.
To use the service, you'll simply order food from a handful of eateries across the CSU campus - paying in app either with credit card, Ram cash or your student meal plan.
If you're wondering whether or not the robot will safely make it to your location or if someone can simply scoop the little guy up en route and eat your burrito, you can rest easy knowing each robot comes built with many security features. You can track it's journey along the way, and it comes equipped with a locked lid, several cameras and sirens should someone try to tamper with it.
When it arrives, you simply unlock it with the app and badabing, your food is ready to eat. Just like something out of Back to the Future 2.
You can get more details about the service from "The Source" on the Colorado State University website.
