50-Year-Old Porn Shop in Fort Collins Sells for Nearly $1 Million

According to The Coloradoan, Book Ranch's property sold for $825,000. It's understandable that this piece of property would fetch such a hefty sum, as it's right by CSU and near Downtown Fort Collins. Wouldn't folks be flabbergasted if the new owners only remodeled the building and didn't raze it?

The location, at the corner of Plum Street and College, was once a service station and a bike shop before becoming Book Ranch in the mid-70s.

There's no telling how many people passed through the doors of Book Ranch in its 50+ years of existence. The fact that it remained open for so long, does speak to the "demand" there has been for what they had inside the establishment.

The Coloradoan says that Eleven-Twenty LLC bought the property; I did some searching, but couldn't really track down anything about them. Then again, just because the purchased it doesn't mean that they will be the ones putting something new on that corner of Plum and College.

The bottom line is, whatever ends up opening up in the former Book Ranch's location, that business will carry with it an almost albatross of what the location used to be. I, for one, am very intrigued to see what pops up there.
