Applications Being Accepted for Weld County Sheriff’s Office Youth Advancement Scholarship

The Weld County Sheriff's Office is now accepting applications for its annual Youth Advancement Scholarship.

According to a news release, WCSO will award its annual scholarship to a student residing in Weld County who intends to pursue a degree in higher education. The one-time award is worth $500.

Eligibility requirements include:

• A high school graduation senior or current college/university student
• Citizen of Weld County, Colorado
• Accepted at an accredited university or college

The application includes a letter of recommendation by a teacher or counselor from the applicant's school, a 500-word essay on why proactive community interaction is paramount in today's society, and an official certified scholastic transcript.
