Think Fort Collins Is Bad? These Colorado Zip Codes Have Highest Rent
If figuratively writing that rent check every month literally hurts you, check out Colorado's highest rents and feel a little bit better. Not much. But a little.
According to Denverite, RENTCafe.com analyzed rent prices across the state of Colorado, and not only do Denver neighborhoods have some of the highest rents in the state, but the capital city's prices-per-month top the entire Western region of the U.S.
The most expensive apartments to rent are, not surprisingly, in Denver's '90210,' or, rather, 80206: Cherry Creek. Average rent there is $2,454 per month, followed by Washington Park (80209) at $2,325 per month and LoDo (80202) at $2,229 per month.
To put that into perspective, the average rent in Fort Collins is $1,555. RENTCafe reports that less than two percent of the Fort Collins population pays under $1,000 every month. Greeley on the other hand, sits at just over $1,000 for average rent, and a third of renters still pay under that average per month.
