Summer concerts in Colorado are some of the best around, so why not add one more to the calendar?

Telluride Adds New Concert Event to Summer Calendar

Just about everyone in Colorado, and many across the nation, have at least hear of the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. That event has grown to become of the "must" events of the summer, where music fans flock to little Telluride.

Here comes another event for the town.

The Telluride Bluegrass Festival dates back to 1974 when they had 1,000 attend. The 2024 event saw about 12,000 attendees for each day.

I'm the kind of person who's always thought about attending the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, but never have. Me and a buddy came "this close" one year to getting tickets and figuring out lodging, but it didn't happen.

Perhaps this brand new concert event in Telluride can be a "practice" event to get us and others used to hitting Telluride for summer fun and live music. Set to be the weekend before Labor Day weekend, it lands on a great spot on the calendar.

Telluride Summer Concert Weekend - August 22-23, 2025

According to the Colorado Sun, this particular weekend has seen a very popular trail run that begins where the concerts will be happening, at Town Park.

The running event, the Telluride Mountain Run, usually sees about 450 people. The concerts have been approved to sell 8,000 tickets each night. The organizers of the run, feel that it's going to be difficult to have the run and the concert of August 23rd happening on the same day.

The two-night event, which as of March 2025 doesn't have an official name, is being put on by the people behind the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, so we can at least rest assured that they know what they're doing, and it won't be some rookies trying to "get in on the action."
