Greeley and Windsor, Colorado are having issues that could escalate into the courtroom. "What's it all about," was my question.

Greeley Colorado Wants Windsor to Stand By Agreement

It's not often that one town takes another to court over a disagreement, but if things don't get worked out, that could be the case, so to speak, for Greeley and Windsor. Our radio station are in Windsor, so it feels like we're involved.

What is the Disagreement Between Greeley and Windsor?

According to the Greeley Tribune and Bizwest, the two towns agreed, back in 2008, on how the two towns would handle developments along Highway 34. Greeley is saying that Windsor hasn't been sharing in the costs, like they agreed to.

2008 was a big year for Windsor, as that was the year that the big tornado tore through town.

Greeley also says that Windsor now does not want to share in the costs of improving and maintaining Weld County Road 17 between Highway 34 north to Weld County Road 60, including negotiating in good faith about a better intersection at CR 17 and Highway 34.

A new interchange at Highway 34 and County Road 17 would be a big deal. I remember when there wasn't even a stoplight there, at all. It was scary trying to get across 34 on 17, back then, without question.

According to the Greeley Tribune and Bizwest, Greeley backed away from initiating a lawsuit, because there are negotiations about the disagreement, which will hopefully work things out.

Bizwest talked to Windsor's attorney who stated that Windsor hadn't broken any of the agreement.

Colorado farmers markets are among the best in the nation. They bring their communities out to not only shop, but to just see one another after being cooped up all winter.
