Open Houses Planned to Discuss Safety Improvements on Highway 85
The public is invited to two open houses next week to learn about safety improvements that will be made to the Highway 85 Corridor, which will include closing some railroad crossings on county roads. While the railroad-crossing closures will impact the public’s access points to the highway, Weld County will continue to maintain these county roads.
Open House Details
- The first open house will be held on January 22 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Fort Lupton Recreation Center, 203 S. Harrison Ave.
- The second open house will be January 23 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Eaton Town Hall Auditorium, 223 First St.
The public is invited to the open house events to learn more about the proposed improvements to the highway and rail corridors, which will lead to increased safety for the traveling public.
The safety improvements to be discussed are consistent with the 1999 Access Management Plan and the recently approved Planning and Environmental Linkage (PEL) study.
