
On The Border Mexican Restaurants Suddenly Close Loveland Location
Date nights in Colorado took a blow in late February of 2025 when, out of nowhere, On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina restaurants completely shut down their location in Loveland.
Parent Company of On the Border Shuts Down Locations Across U.S.
At the start of winter in 2025, there were 157 On the Border locations across America; by the end of 2025, that number may dwindle to less than 50. Loveland's location at The Promenade Shops at Centerra is one of the casualties.
The sign on the doors tells people that the Loveland location is permanently closed at to visit OnTheBorder.com to find other locations.
I have been to the Loveland On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina numerous times; I've had (as many others have) great times there. They have great food, great drinks, and a fun vibe. The thought of them not being around is disheartening.

On February 25, 2025 the Arizona Republic reported that many On the Border locations had been closing lately, bringing the number of locations to just under 70. In addition, it's not like any employees had seen it coming.

It was February 26, 2025 that I saw a post on a Loveland Facebook page where someone in town had suddenly lost their restaurant job after the place "just closed." I tried to find out what restaurant it was, it appears now, that it was On the Border.

The Arizona Republic states that every one of the Arizona On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina spots are now closed; that doesn't bode well for the remaining Colorado locations such as Aurora, Colorado Springs and DIA.
