One Colorado Taco John’s Becoming New Local Mexican Restaurant
Coloradans have been seeing less and less Taco John's locations recently, as there have been more than a few closures. One that closed, will become a new Mexican spot for locals.
Taco John's started out in Wyoming in 1969; it's sad to think that Colorado, a neighboring state, has to lose locations; but when one door closes, another opens, as they say; this could be the start of something big.
Who is the restaurant coming in to take a former TJ's?
New Plans for Former Taco John's Location in Northern Colorado
There's definitely something tasty about Taco John's, otherwise they wouldn't still be around. I saw where there are new locations opening, even though some are closing; a lot of it comes down to the franchisers, some succeed, some do not.
Windsor's Taco John's closed up in August of 2024, very suddenly. One week it was open, the next week the doors and windows were boarded up. Adios, Potato Olés and six-pack of tacos; it was good while it lasted.
Denver Mexican Restaurant to Open Second Location in Windsor
Where Taco John's was in Windsor, a place called Alvarado's Mexican Fast Food has jumped at the opportunity to take over the space, just off of I-25 at the Windsor exit.
Similarly, Alvarado's original location, in Englewood, used to be a Burger King.

That Englewood location has only been in operation since 2022, so it's great to see that they're succeeding enough to broaden their horizons to the north. Wil they be taking over more former Taco John's? We'll have to wait and see.
