Loveland Set to Close Part of Garfield Avenue for Three Months
Well, you can’t say it’s not necessary. This stretch of Garfield Avenue has been shoddy for years. It’ll be worth avoiding it for three months as it gets repaired.
On Wednesday, August 16, 2017, the City of Loveland will begin fixing Garfield Avenue from Eisenhower Boulevard northward to the railroad tracks. I drove this stretch just the other day to remind myself of what a piece of junk that stretch of the road is. It’s just awful.
For three months (the project is set to be completed on November 12, 2017), the section of road will be COMPLETELY closed- only residents will be allowed into the area. Even that won’t be pretty – the only place to get in and out of the neighboring streets will be at West 14th Street, right by the lake. Oh, Brother.
When the road reopens in November though, it should show a marked improvement as the city is throwing $2M at the project.
Good Luck, Gang! That goes for the workers and the residents!
