The state of Colorado was home to 5.7 million residents in 2020. By the end of 2023, Colorado's population increased to 5,877,610. Population increases have slowed down just a bit since 2020, with fewer people relocating during the Covid-19 pandemic. Will Colorado's population growth begin to speed up again in 2024? It appears likely.

Growth in Mesa County and Grand Junction
In 2020, Mesa County, Colorado's population was at 155,603. By the end of 2022, that number grew to 158,636. This increase of 2,926 residents equals a growth of 1.8%. That's good enough to make the list of the fastest-growing counties in Colorado, with Mesa County at number six. Way to go!

Colorado's Fastest Growing Counties
Two of Colorado's fastest-growing counties since 2020 have been Douglas County and Weld County. Communities like Greeley and Highlands Ranch have seen significant increases in population over the last few years.
