Dating back to 1931, there were five "Sam's" locations (even one at Coney Island.) Sam's #3 as Coloradans now know it was the "one" location that Sam Armatas kept when breaking up with his business partner.
Sam's #3 on Curtis eventually closed, and the re-born "Sam's 3" began operation in 1998 in Aurora in 1998. It's said to say that, after 25 years, that is the location that they'll be closing down.
WHY IS SAM'S #3 IN AURORA, COLORADO CLOSING DOWN?
According to their Facebook post, the Armatas family feels it's time to "own their own space." That would point to them not wanting to lease the building that they are in, any further.
MANY WILL BE MISSING THE SPOT

So many memories. So sad to see this. You guys have seen my kids grow up at your restaurant. Knew my parents. So sad.
