After a hot weekend in Northern Colorado, Monday brings a little bit of relief when it comes to temperatures. However, there is an elevated risk for severe weather with the milder temperatures.

Northern Colorado Faces Severe Storm Risk Monday

According to the National Weather Service, severe thunderstorms are possible for much of the Front Range on Monday afternoon. Damaging winds up to 65 miles per hour, a low to medium risk for tornadoes, and egg-sized to tennis ball-sized hail all could be possible while these storms roll through.

Storms Could Develop Along the I-25 Corridor

The National Weather Service is urging everyone to stay weather aware today and be cautious of storms. The first storms should start to develop during the mid-afternoon along the Interstate 25 corridor and then move east through the early evening hours.

KDVR Meteorologist, Kylie Bearse, says that today's storms pose a Level 2 threat, and cars should be in the garage, and gardens should be covered due to the possibility to large hail this afternoon.
