High Wind Warnings Across NoCo With Gusts Up to 75 MPH
High wind at any time of year is never a good thing. But come the Ho Ho Holidays time, well, let's just say it's particularly bad for Christmas decorations.
If you're the type that has a bunch of inflatables in your yard or Christmas lights that dangle, you can be assured by the time you get home from work, you may have to go hunting down Rudolph across your neighbors' yards.

A high wind warning is in effect, officially with gusts up to 75 MPH across parts of Larimer and Weld Counties being possible.
They say the mountains may actually see gusts up towards 95 MPH.
To put that in perspective, a Category 1 hurricane has wind speeds between 74-95 MPH. Hurricane Santa, anyone?

With the high winds come the risk of tree damage, power outages and fire risk. But bringing those risks closer to home, it's all the stuff scattered around everyone's yards this time of year that represent quite the risk as well. Imagine Frosty the Snowman tumbling down the street, taking out mailboxes or people walking their dogs along the way. What about that giant Grinch you had hanging from your chimney? He'll be long gone when you get home.
Make sure that any Christmas decorations you have in the yard are properly tied down as the winds will come and go all this week!
