Harmony Library to Close for Renovations

If you frequent the Harmony location of our local Poudre River Public Libraries, then, heads up. The Harmony Library will be closed for several weeks to renovate, starting May 11.

This library location is attached to the Front Range Community Campus and has lots of parking. Be prepared to circle a few times at the other Fort Collins locations, Old Town and Council Tree.

Now that we're talking about the Poudre River Public Libraries, let me tell you a little-known service they provide. It's called Gadgets & Things, and you check these items out just like a book. Parks passes, a karaoke machine, a crochet kit, and cake pans are just some of the unusual library items you can check out.

Curiosity Passes

Visit area museums, galleries, and attractions for free with the Library's Curiosity Pass Program! Use our online reservation system to explore availability and admission dates and to reserve passes. You need a Poudre River Public Library District resident library card and an email address for reservations.

Take Home Technology

The Gadgets & Things collection includes mobile devices like Chromebooks, MiFi Hotspots, and FitBit activity trackers for check out. Each device has its own lending limits and guidelines for renewals and holds.

Crochet Kit

Learn to crochet with the new kits available at the library! Each kit includes the books "Learn to Crochet" and "A to Z of Crochet," an instructional DVD, one crochet hook, and a skein of yarn. This is a great way to try out a new hobby before investing in hooks, yarn, and other notions.

Telescope Kit

Our new kits come with a telescope with two magnifying eyepieces, a folding tripod, an instruction manual, copies of the books "50 Things to See with a Telescope: A Young Stargazer's Guide" and "50 Things to See with a Small Telescope," a red light flashlight, and a carrying case.

Cake Pans and Bakeware

For all your fun birthday cake and holiday cake needs, check out the many high-quality cake pans and muffin pans available through the library. Everything from a Christmas tree-shaped pan to mini-Santa Claus, and Strawberry Shortcake to a rocking horse are part of the much-anticipated cake pan collection.

 

Other available Gadgets and Things include Fitbit Zips, solar lights, Colorado State Parks passes, birdwatching backpack kits, GoPro camera kits, karaoke systems, indoor/outdoor screen projectors, noise-cancelling headphones, energy monitoring kits, and more.
