Popular Southern Fast Food Guthrie’s Set to Open First Colorado Location
The chicken fingers market in Colorado is headed towards saturation, you would think, as another chain has set its sights on getting a piece of The Centennial State's hunger for them. These guys, however, are the original? How do the "other guys" feel about them coming to Colorado?
Raising Cane's, Dave's Hot Chicken, and Bojangles are a few of the chains known for their chicken fingers that have already come to Colorado. The Raising Cane's in Fort Collins is notorious for backing up traffic on College Avenue with people lining up for their drive-thru. Loveland will be getting a Raising Cane's in 2025; in 2026 a popular chain out of Alabama will be in Colorado.
The menu at Guthrie's is small: Chicken finger combos, chicken finger sandwiches, chicken finger buckets.

Who is Guthrie's Golden Fried Chicken Fingers Coming to Colorado?
Having started out in Haleyville, Alabama (about an hour northwest of Birmingham) in 1965; it wasn't until 1978, however, that they decided to focus on their chicken fingers. Their second location opened in 1982, and by 1997 they still only had eight Guthrie's in the southeast. Nearly 30 years after that, in 2025, they still only have about 70. Maybe that's why I hadn't heard of them until the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department posted on Facebook about Guthrie's submitting plans.
Where Will Colorado's First Guthrie's Be?
Once again, Fort Collins and the Northern Colorado area get overlooked as a great area to start, giving the bragging rights (also once again) to Colorado Springs. According to KKTV, it'll be about four miles from CU Colorado Springs; Guthrie's likes to be near universities.
