One of Northern Colorado’s Popular Pizza Joints Is Getting a 3rd Location

Colorado pizza restaurants are some of the greatest in the country. It's fun to see a small, local one expand its horizons. It's one of those "when one door opens, another opens" situations, too.

Empire State Pizza Adding Location to Greeley, Colorado

Empire State Pizza has been around since 2015 in Garden City, Colorado. Those not familiar with Garden City should know that it's a little "part" of Greeley, in the area of Highway 34 and Highway 85. Within Garden City is Empire State Pizza's first location.

I stopped in at the Garden City Empire State Pizza when they were just four-years-old, in 2019. It was a part of my "Pizza My Heart' pizza review series that I had at the time; I really liked them. I'm not alone, as they've had so much success, they're ready for more.

In early 2023, Empire State Pizza became a dining option at the University Center at the University of Northern Colorado.

It was in early 2025, that it was announced that Wing Shack would be taking over the spot formerly held by Kenny's Steakhouse in Greeley. That is a great location, at the corner of 10th Street and 35th Avenue. Wing Shack would be vacating their spot at 10th Street and 47th Avenue.

In Garden City, Wing Shack is a neighbor of Empire State Pizza, so maybe that's how this whole thing got off the ground, as Empire State Pizza's second location will be that former Wing Shack off of 47th.

With two (technically three) locations, one being more in the heart of Greeley to boot, a third (or more) Empire State Pizza doesn't seem unlikely.
