Suspects Are Kicking Doors As Part of Stupid Social Media Trend?
Is it actual burglary attempts or just another dumb TikTok challenge that is leading people across the state of Colorado to be startled awake in the middle of the night, with random people trying to kick down their doors?
That's what the police want to know, in addition to countless homeowners - at least across the Denver Metro and Douglas County areas so far.

There is apparently what is called the "Door Kick Challenge" circulating across social media, which encourages mostly teenagers to ring someone's doorbell in the middle of the night then aggressively try to kick down the door before running off into the darkness.
Imagine waking up to the sound of that in the middle of the night. Imagine being one of the kickers and actually thinking this was a smart idea.

Several doorbell camera videos have captured young men doing the challenge, but it's only a matter of time before someone opens that door and takes matters into their own hands.
Police say that several reports have been made across the state, the most recent in Douglas County, in Parker specifically. They encourage parents to talk to their kids about how dangerous the activity could be, let alone the laws they are breaking.
Carrying out such a prank could carry criminal charges like attempted felony burglary and obviously property damage, sometimes into the thousands of dollars worth.
Chalk this one up on the list of "more things that social media has done to make life just a little bit more stupid."
