A CSU alum is making some noise in the NFL playoffs this year and now has his team 1 win away from a Super Bowl win.

Shaq Barrett, who transferred to Colorado State after the University of Nebraska-Omaha eliminated its football program in 2011 played 3 years with CSU with his best season coming in his final year (2013) when he was named Mountain West Conference Defensive Player of the Year.

Shaq Barrett actually started his career just down the road in Denver when the Broncos signed his as an undrafted free agent in 2014. (Chalk that one up as one that got away for the Broncos) He was with the team unitl he signed a contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in March of 2019.

According to ESPN, yesterday, in the NFC Championship at Green Bay, Barrett compiled 5 tackles but more importantly sacked future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers 3 times in a 31-26 win to help propel the Bucs to the Super Bowl.

Barrett has been wreaking havoc on opposing qb's all season with this pressure and sacks with (11) including the playoffs.

We always LOVE to see our former Rams doing big things at the next level and there hasn't been one that's been THIS prominent and in the spotlight since Joey Porter with the Pittsburgh Steelers when he helped lead them to a Super Bowl back in February of 2006.

I was already rooting for Tom Brady and Gronk to grab another title and get one for the Bucs but now that we got some CSU blood in the game, I'm all in for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Congratulations Shaq, we're all proud of you and pulling for you.
