Over the weekend while we were chowing down on burgers, waving our American flags, watching parades and fireworks, there were a few Coloradans, who were keeping their eyes on the sky.

NASA's Juno mission to Jupiter reached its destination, Jupiter's orbit, on July 4th, and that was in part to some scientists from Colorado.

Juno launched in 2011 and had traveled just about 2 billion miles to get to Jupiter. Researchers are hoping to determine if Jupiter has a solid core, it will measure the planet's magnetic fields, look for water vapor and check out what's happening with the polar auroras.
