CDOT Announces Changes For HOV Lanes

CDOT has announced that starting this January you'll need a third person in your car to use the HOV lanes in Colorado.

The HOV requirement, in January, will change to HOV 3+, or a driver plus two passengers. CDOT says the HOV+3 will ensure the lanes be free-flowing for those who carpool, pay a toll, or ride the bus.

The decision to change the number of passengers in the HOV lane was made back in 2013 after a resolution passed to raise the number of passengers in hopes of easing congestion and pollution.
