Inside (and Outside) the New Buc-ee’s in Colorado
When word got out that Buc-ee's would be bringing a location to Colorado, it nearly broke the internet. That location opened in mid-March of 2024 in Johnstown, right off the interstate.
It has over 100 fuel pumps outside and is very large on the inside, but is Buc-ee's worth all the frenzied excitement it brought to the Centennial State?
After months of construction and months of eager anticipation, Buc-ee's Colorado location opened at 6 a.m. on March 18, 2024. That morning, there wasn't a parking spot to be found; there was so much excitement.
Who Will be Stopping at the Buc-ee's in Johnstown, Colorado?
It would seem like most people traveling along I-25 on a trip to Rocky Mountain National Park will be stopping in. Locals may stop in on their way to have a day at Carter Lake, as well. Will people from Berthoud and Johnstown be visiting regularly? That's hard to say.

For the grand opening, there were people waiting since the evening before. Whether they had been to a Buc-ee's before, or they were going for their very first time, hundreds and hundreds of people flooded the new store.
Should Johnson's Corner be Concerned?
Though Buc-ee's is huge, the one thing they definitely do not have is a sit-down restaurant, like at Johnson's Corner. So, for travelers who really want to take a break and not just shop, Johnson's Corner will be the place to go.
