Heavy precipitation coupled strong winds over the last 12 plus hours have caused the center to issue the warning. Saying "natural avalanche activity is likely, and human-triggered avalanches are very likely."

The human-triggered avalanches are very likely near and above treeline according to their website. One to two feet of new and windblown snow are adding weak layers to the snowpack.

Reports of several human-triggered avalanches have been coming in since December 8th, and a full avalanche burial happened on Saturday near Berthoud Pass.

The warning is expected to be lifted Monday at noon.
