AJ’s Weekend In 5 Pictures…Hockey Fights And Christmas Stuff
Weekends are a time to unwind and have fun. Leave the crap from the work week behind and just do you and be you.
This past weekend was a fun one for me and the fam that included plenty of hockey, which included a few fights from the Colorado Eagles' games against the Henderson Silver Knights, Christmas stuff - which included helping launch some Christmas tunes on our sister station Retro 102.5 - plus some holiday cheer being spread around our house, along with a few other random things.
Hopefully, your weekend brought you some rest, relaxation, and some good times as well.
My weekend started on Friday with the 2021 debut of Christmas music in NoCo on our sister station Retro 102.5. We all gathered as a family at Townsquare Media to help our main man, "the official unofficial mayor of Loveland", Dave Jensen to kick off the Christmas season. Good times, GREAT peeps!
It was supposed to be a surprise when we burst into the studio, but Dave had to ruin it by going to the bathroom two minutes before the surprise. I love this shot of Dave and my boy.
Friday also consisted of finishing off our efforts to help former marine, purple heart recipient, and current gym teacher John Reid get his bikes together and up and rolling for his students at Gilcrest Elementary. Thanks again for all of the donations to help us reach our goal. Gotta love the power of local radio!
Saturday brought a fun day that started with my son's first basketball game and first win on the season!
After basketball, it was all about hockey night in NoCo with the Colorado Eagles tangling with the Henderson Silver Knights. The Knights got us on Friday night, but the Eagles fought back - literally - on Saturday night and clawed out a 2-1 win which included a pretty solid hockey fight.
I also got to hang with my good buddies Slapshot and the Colorado Avalanche mascot, Bernie. Yes, the stars were out in full force Saturday night at the Budweiser Events Center.
Sunday brought a little Christmas decorating in the form of our Christmas tree, and I got to hang my favorite Christmas ornament of all time!
Okay, okay, I know I said "my weekend in 5 pics" but I put a few more in this week. Sorry! After we dug out some Christmas decorations, we discovered a couple of sweet spots for new forts and this was the boy's favorite in the garage. His perch.
