Skiing in Colorado brings in nearly $5 billion to the state's economy. Millions of people visit every year to hit our slopes and spend money; since 2020, some have been buying specialized $500 ski jackets made in Boulder.

Boulder Company Makes $500 Wild Animal-Themed Ski Jackets

People that love to ski spend a lot on their equipment: the perfect skis can make all the difference, cool goggles to help you see, gloves to keep your hands warm going down the slopes, and outerwear, such as ski jackets.

A Boulder businessman would often be seen wearing a bear costume while on the ski slopes. Years later, he has a near $1 million/year company.

Maybe ski enthusiasts don't see spending $500 on a unique ski jackets as frivolous, like me; they probably see it as a way to stand out among all the other skiers out there. These folks probably see me as "crazy" for spending $20 for disc for disc golf.

According to the Denver Post, a businessman in Boulder would ski in a bear costume; that costume lead to creating his company, Wildcoat in 2020. Four years later, that company was selling $700,000 in these animal jackets.

The jackets/coats cost $460 each. Of course, you don't necessarily have to wear them for only skiing; imagine the looks you'd get a Broncos game or watching your kids play football.
