Skiing in Colorado can be one of the most fun adventures you can have. It can also put you in the hospital if you're not careful. That's why this Colorado ski area is not for those looking to "kill a weekend."

The thing is, the way skiing in Colorado can be so expensive, this particular mountain's prices don't seem so extreme in most instances; it is definitely extreme skiing in Colorado, however.

Silverton Mountain is not Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, or even Steamboat. There's no great lodge at the bottom of the mountain to relax at; you are there to "extreme ski" and that's about it.
